Challenges for Every Day of the Week!!!
Each month there is something new and exciting in the Shakin’ Challenge Forum at The Shaker Box and February was no exception. In addition to all the challenges normally offered, The Shaker Box held an Itty Bitty Mini Crop to help all the members successfully count down the moments until the announcement of the new Design Team members and to complete some wonderful challenges as well! Everyone had a wonderful Hoodie Hoo time!
This month, the Challenge Forums have added some new faces as The Shaker Box adds new team members. To the forum we welcome the following: Sandy to the Monday Mountains of Stash challenge, Mandy - who will be helping with the weekly card challenges, as well as the TGIF challenges and Brenda to the Tuesday Color challenges. In addition, we are pleased to add Chris (chrisgr) to the Sunday Sketch challenges. We know you will all enjoy the challenges the Shaker Team will be offering and we look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in the gallery!
For all of you who have faithfully joined us in doing the daily and monthly challenges, your names were placed into “a hat” for each time you completed a challenge. The Challenge Forum winner for February is Sheila (jillymac.) Sheila is new toThe Shaker Box and we hope she, and others, are encouraged by this to do even MORE layouts in March. Congratulations Sheila! Don't forget to add your Special Challenges Blinkie to your signature!!
Remember, the more challenges you do, the more times your name will be put into the drawing and there is still plenty of time to complete challenges for March.
Join us for the:
- MONDAY : Mountains of Stash – new DTM Sandy has been taking part in these challenges from the beginning. Now she's on the other side, joining team member Carla in issuing the challenges each Monday to you as you work together to pare down that mountain of scrapping stash!
- TUESDAY : Two for Tuesdays – Mandy has joined the team and she has new ideas and challenges for all of your card making needs. If that isn't enough, join Brenda as she brings color to your world in a new and, sometimes, unique way as she helps you rotate around the wheel with the color challenges!
- WEDNESDAY : Words of Wisdom will bring wisdom to your pages and inspiration through Words as Carla challenges you to use just one WORD, one special word, as a focus on your layout. Lynn and Mac will also inspire you with words of wit and wisdom through their quote challenges.
- THURSDAY : Theme Books and New Techniques are the focus for Thursdays. Yes, the winds of change are blowing through the Thursday challenges. Some Thursdays will include theme books as Mac encourages you to create books with a purpose, those with a theme, such as the My Life's Journey's album or a simple quote book, and other Thursdays will offer challenges encouraging you to try new and different techniques. Either way, you will find inspiration through Mac's challenges each week.
- FRIDAY : TGIF but you aren't out of challenges - the weekend is just beginning! Each week Mandy and Mac will rotate to issue random challenges that will keep your pages going and your ideas flowing through the weekend! In February, the TGIF challenge introduced us to the infamous Hoodie Hoo! You will not want to miss even one of these challenges!
- SATURDAY : ADS and ART, whichever suits your inspiration, Saturday will be the day you will find your muse as Lynn shares new sources of advertising mediums for your motivation and the design team brings you challenges through art – both fine art and altered inspirations!
- SUNDAY : Sketches, just as a builder needs a blueprint for a good foundation, sometimes every artist needs a good sketch for a piece of art. Let Sketch artists Chris and Michele's sketches be a source of a good foundation for your next layout!
However you derive your inspiration, there are CHALLENGES galore just waiting for you inside our Shakin' Challenge Forums!
Don't forget to download your Official "Hoodie Hoo" blinkie to show your support!

McGILL COZY CRAFTER TOOL REVIEW
Manufacturer: McGill
MSRP: $69.95
Rating: 10
Review:
If you are looking for the most comfortable place to do your scrapping, then let McGill help you find that perfect atmostphere! With the Cozy Crafter product, any crafter will delight in simply having one. This product is a must have for scrappers everywhere but especially if you live in a cold-climate region. The Cozy Crafter is really two heaters in one. It can be a heated footrest as well as a stand-up heat panel radiating heat to where it is most needed. Its ergonomic design uses no more than your standard 100 watt bulb and is equipped with 2 heat settings. Even if you are not a crafter, this amazing little heater can be used in offices, homes, schools, garages as well as craft rooms and area.
Instructions for Use
This amazing heater plugs into any standard outlet and is very easily converted to fit your needs. If you would like to use it as a heated footrest, simply lay it flat on the floor and adjust the flexible top with the shift of your feet to find the most comfortable position. When needed, the Cozy Crafter can be adjusted to the upright position by rotating the legs to the upright position to allow the unit to warm the area under your table or desk. This unique heater is a must have for all crafters. I highly recommend this product to The Shaker Box community members!!
Creative Uses
Share the Cozy Crafter with your fellow croppers by taking it with you to your favorite weekend crop. Sometimes, the rooms you find yourselves in are less than adequately heated so why not take your Cozy Crafter with you. You will be sure to put a smile on the faces of those around you!
