The photo was overlaid onto a piece of crumpled paper and then clipped to it. Layer style was changed to overlay and then duplicated and then set to multiply. I also played with the opacity a little bit on the photo layers. Anyway, I just kept playing around until I got the look that I wanted on the larger photo - but that funky edge and blue color in the waves comes from the element of the crumpled paper.
