I didn't have photos to scrap of Canada Day so I wrote a quick poem instead:
I am proud to be a Canadian eh.
It's the home of the great moose,
plus the rather famous beaver,
and let's not forget the Canadian goose.
I like that people can chose their religion,
they can even be an atheist like me.
Here there isn't religious persecution,
no cause for anyone to have to flee.
I am proud that my country
feels like the land of the truly free.
As there are no civil wars here,
just peace from sea to shining sea.
Medical care is readily available,
as it is only a phone call away.
Tests, surgery, medicine...help
regardless of what you can pay.
No matter the colour of their skin,
or a persons sexual orientation...
we have freedoms and equality rights,
in this, our multi-cultural nation.
I gave birth to each of my children here.
All of us live our lives here day to day.
We have hopes, dreams, and possibilities
I am proud to be a Canadian eh.
